In Saturday's league test, the Cumberland Dukes (Cumberland, VA) basketball squad knocked off the visiting Buckingham Knights (Buckingham, VA), by a score of 38-30.

Next, the Dukes encounter the Lunenburg Central Chargers (Victoria, VA) in a James River test, on Tuesday, January 28. Cumberland will attempt to improve on its 10-4 season record. The Chargers come into the test with a 3-6 record after their 46-44 league win over Nottoway (Nottoway, VA).

The Knights (8-4) will now prepare for their test against Prince Edward County (Farmville, VA). The Eagles come into the James River test with a 15-0 record. In their last test, Prince Edward County beat Randolph-Henry (Charlotte Court House, VA), 67-20, in a league test.
