The crowd at Saturday's league challenge between the Mesa Vista Trojans (Ojo Caliente, NM) and the host Escalante Lobos (Tierra Amarilla, NM), observed Mesa Vista's basketball team overwhelm Escalante by a score of 67-32.
The Trojans (15-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Questa (Questa, NM). The Wildcats come into the 2A District 5 challenge with a 14-3 record.
In their next game, the Lobos encounter the Penasco Panthers (Penasco, NM) in a 2A District 5 challenge, on Thursday, January 30. Escalante will attempt to improve on its 1-16 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 7-10 record after their 54-44 league loss to McCurdy (Espanola, NM).
