In Saturday's league contest, the visiting Pine Eagle Spartans basketball team scored a good 47-38 triumph over the Wallowa Cougars.
The Spartans (7-9) will now prepare for their contest against Powder Valley (North Powder, OR). The Badgers go into the 1A Old Oregon contest with a 12-9 record. In their last contest, Powder Valley topped Joseph (Joseph, OR), 46-23, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Cougars battle the Joseph Eagles (Joseph, OR) in a 1A Old Oregon contest, on Thursday, January 30. Wallowa will attempt to better on its 6-13 season record. The Eagles go into the contest with a 7-11 record after their 46-23 league loss to Union (Union, OR).
