In Saturday's league contest, the host Portsmouth Patriots ice hockey team scored a close 5-3 triumph over the St. Raphael Academy Saints.

The Patriots (10-2) will now prepare for their contest against East Greenwich (East Greenwich, RI). The Avengers come into the Division 2 contest with a 12-2 record. In their last contest, East Greenwich got by North Kingstown (North Kingstown, RI), 7-1, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Saints battle the Coventry Oakers (Coventry, RI) in a Division 2 contest, on Friday, January 31. St. Raphael Academy will attempt to better on its 8-3 season record. The Oakers come into the contest with a 1-9 record after their 5-2 league loss to Rogers (Newport, RI).
