The Father McGivney Catholic Griffins (Glen Carbon, IL) basketball crushed the visiting Valmeyer Pirates (Valmeyer, IL), 72-40 in Wednesday's non-league test.

The Griffins (12-12) will now prepare for their test against Bunker Hill (Bunker Hill, IL). The Minutemen go into the Prairie State test with a 7-14 record. In their last test, Bunker Hill was trounced by Metro-East Lutheran (Edwardsville, IL), 78-53, in a league test.

The Pirates now own a 0-12 record. They play next when they host Marissa/Coulterville for a Cahokia - Kaskaskia test on Friday, January 28. Valmeyer will encounter a Meteors squad coming off a 59-55 league loss to New Athens (New Athens, IL). The Meteors record now stands at 10-9.
