The Horizon Prep Lions (Rancho Santa Fe, CA) basketball nipped the visiting Gompers Prep Academy Eagles (San Diego, CA), 52-45 in Thursday's league test.
The Lions (16-2) will now prepare for their test against The Cambridge School (San Diego, CA). The Griffins go into the Patriot test with a 6-11 record. In their last test, The Cambridge School got by Bonsall (Bonsall, CA), 55-40, in a league test.
The Eagles now own a 13-5 record. They play next when they host Preuss UCSD for a non-league test on Friday, February 3. Gompers Prep Academy will encounter a Tritons squad coming off a 82-23 league loss to High Tech CV (Chula Vista, CA). The Tritons record now stands at 4-12.
