Marlboro Mustangs (Marlboro, NJ) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Howell Rebels (Farmingdale, NJ), 61-31 in a league bout.

With the victory, Marlboro upgrades its record to 5-7 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Rumson-Fair Haven (Rumson, NJ) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 28. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 10-5. Rumson-Fair Haven lost 56-42 in their recent league bout against Red Bank Catholic (Red Bank, NJ)

Next up, the Rebels play the Christian Brothers Academy Colts (Lincroft, NJ) in a Shore A - North bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Howell will attempt to upgrade on its 5-13 season record. The Colts come into the bout with a 9-5 record after their 51-49 league win over Marlboro (Marlboro, NJ).
