McAdory Yellowjackets (McCalla, AL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Hueytown Golden Gophers (Hueytown, AL), 68-55 in a league bout.

With the win, McAdory upgrades its record to 15-9 on the season. The Yellowjackets travel to Darlington (Rome, GA) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 28. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 19-3. Darlington won 65-39 in their recent league bout against Dade County (Trenton, GA)

Next up, the Golden Gophers play the McAdory Yellowjackets (McCalla, AL) in a 6A Area 7 bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Hueytown will attempt to upgrade on its 7-15 season record.
