The Norcom Greyhounds (Portsmouth, VA) basketball nipped the visiting Lakeland Cavaliers (Suffolk, VA), 42-37 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Greyhounds (4-12) will now prepare for their test against Norview (Norfolk, VA). The Pilots go into the Eastern test with a 11-4 record. In their last test, Norview got by Manor (Portsmouth, VA), 55-46, in a league test.
The Cavaliers now own a 5-9 record. They play next when they host Oscar Smith for a Southeastern test on Friday, January 27. Lakeland will encounter a Tigers squad coming off a 77-52 league win over Deep Creek (Chesapeake, VA). The Tigers record now stands at 14-1.
