New Mexico High School Basketball - Springer knocked off by Maxwell

The Maxwell Bears basketball team scored 61 points and held the host Springer Red Devils to 44 in the Bears league triumph on Thursday.

The Bears now sport a 15-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Des Moines for a A District 5 contest on Friday, January 27. Maxwell will meet a Demons team coming off a 55-51 non-league win over Raton (Raton, NM). The Demons record now stands at 11-7.

The Red Devils (8-8) will now prepare for their contest against Roy/Mosquero (Roy, NM). The Blue or Lady Blue enter the A District 5 contest with a 7-11 record. In their last contest, Roy/Mosquero was defeated by Cimarron (Cimarron, NM), 52-38, in a league contest.
