St. Edward Green Wave (Elgin, IL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Ridgewood Rebels (Norridge, IL), 54-42 in a league game.

In their next game, the Green Wave face the Aurora Christian Eagles (Aurora, IL) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, January 31. St. Edward will attempt to move on its 15-10 season record. The Eagles enter the game with a 17-7 record after their 57-46 league win over St. Francis (Wheaton, IL).

With the defeat, Ridgewood moves to 14-8 on the year. The Rebels host Aurora Central Catholic (Aurora, IL) to face the Chargers in a Metro Suburban game on Thursday, February 2. The Chargers enter the game with a record of 7-18.
