Alanson Vikings (Alanson, MI) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Wolverine Wildcats (Wolverine, MI), 37-28 in a league bout.

With the victory, Alanson upgrades its record to 5-7 on the campaign. The Vikings host Maplewood Baptist Academy (Kinross, MI) to play the Black Bears in a non-league bout on Thursday, February 2. The Black Bears come into the bout with a record of 7-3.

Next up, the Wildcats play the Harbor Light Christian Swordsmen (Harbor Springs, MI) in a Northern Lakes bout, on Monday, January 30. Wolverine will attempt to upgrade on its 1-12 season record. The Swordsmen come into the bout with a 8-2 record after their 49-18 league win over Ellsworth (Ellsworth, MI).
