The Brookhaven Academy Cougars (Brookhaven, MS) basketball crushed the visiting East Rankin Academy Patriots (Pelahatchie, MS), 47-21 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Cougars (30-3) will now prepare for their test against Columbia Academy (Columbia, MS). The Cougars go into the MAIS 5A District 4 test with a 3-7 record. In their last test, Columbia Academy was trounced by Bowling Green (Franklinton, LA), 51-31, in a league test.

The Patriots now own a 16-15 record. They play next when they travel to Canton Academy for a non-league test on Friday, January 27. East Rankin Academy will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 39-34 league win over Tri-County Academy (Flora, MS). The Panthers record now stands at 4-6.
