The Monroe Central Seminoles (Woodsfield, OH) basketball knocked off the visiting Buckeye Local Panthers (Rayland, OH), 51-40 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Seminoles (15-5) will now prepare for their test against Wheeling Central Catholic (Wheeling, WV). The Maroon Knights go into the non-league test with a 14-3 record. In their last test, Wheeling Central Catholic notched a victory over Charleston Catholic (Charleston, WV), 56-44, in a non-league test.
The Panthers now own a 5-7 record. They play next when they travel to Indian Creek for a Buckeye 8 test on Monday, January 30. Buckeye Local will encounter a Redskins squad coming off a 50-36 league loss to Union Local (Belmont, OH). The Redskins record now stands at 13-4.
