Calais Blue Devils (Calais, ME) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Machias Bulldogs (Machias, ME), 53-39 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Calais upgrades its record to 9-3 on the campaign. The Blue Devils host Jonesport-Beals (Jonesport, ME) to play the Royals in a non-league bout on Monday, January 30. The Royals come into the bout with a record of 6-9. Jonesport-Beals won 44-26 in their recent league bout against Deer Isle-Stonington (Deer Isle, ME)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Schenck Wolverines (East Millinocket, ME) in a D North bout, on Friday, January 27. Machias will attempt to upgrade on its 10-2 season record.
