The Lordsburg Mavericks basketball team scored 66 points and held the host Cloudcroft Bears to 21 in the Mavericks league triumph on Thursday.
The Mavericks now sport a 10-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Tularosa for a 2A District 3 game on Saturday, January 28. Lordsburg will face a Wildcats team coming off a 52-35 league loss to Capitan (Capitan, NM). The Wildcats record now stands at 8-10.
With the defeat, Cloudcroft moves to 3-13 on the year. The Bears travel to Mescalero Apache (Mescalero, NM) to face the Chiefs in a 2A District 3 game on Saturday, January 28. The Chiefs enter the game with a record of 13-6. Mescalero Apache won 32-26 in their recent league game against Tularosa (Tularosa, NM)
