Columbia Eagles (Columbia, IL) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Salem Wildcats (Salem, IL), 62-34 in a league bout.

With the victory, Columbia upgrades its record to 17-8 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Freeburg (Freeburg, IL) to play the Midgets in a Cahokia - Mississippi bout on Monday, January 30. The Midgets come into the bout with a record of 17-8. Freeburg won 63-31 in their recent non-league bout against Central (Cape Girardeau, MO)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Roxana Shells (Roxana, IL) in a Cahokia - Mississippi bout, on Monday, January 30. Salem will attempt to upgrade on its 11-13 season record. The Shells come into the bout with a 8-15 record after their 53-19 league loss to Breese Central (Breese, IL).
