Covington Buccs (Covington, OH) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Riverside Pirates (De Graff, OH), 41-28 in a league bout.

With the win, Covington upgrades its record to 6-6 on the season. The Buccs travel to Miami East (Casstown, OH) to clash with the Vikings in a Freelance bout on Thursday, February 2. The Vikings go into the bout with a record of 16-5. Miami East lost 41-38 in their recent league bout against Bethel (Tipp City, OH)

Next up, the Pirates clash with the Hardin Northern Polar Bears (Dola, OH) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 28. Riverside will attempt to upgrade on its 5-13 season record. The Polar Bears go into the bout with a 11-7 record after their 55-25 non-league win over Crestline (Crestline, OH).
