Dirigo Cougars (Dixfield, ME) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Mount Abram Roadrunners (Strong, ME), 50-37 in a league bout.

With the win, Dirigo upgrades its record to 5-12 on the season. The Cougars host North Yarmouth Academy (Yarmouth, ME) to play the Panthers in a C South bout on Saturday, January 28. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 12-0. North Yarmouth Academy won 62-19 in their recent league bout against Sacopee Valley (Cornish, ME)

Next up, the Roadrunners play the Madison Bulldogs (Madison, ME) in a C South bout, on Friday, January 27. Mount Abram will attempt to upgrade on its 4-6 season record.
