New Mexico High School Basketball - Penasco falls to Escalante

January 26, 2023: Tierra Amarilla, NM 87575

In Thursday's league match, the host Escalante Lobos basketball team scored a good 62-44 triumph over the Penasco Panthers.

In their next game, the Lobos meet the Mora Rangers/Rangerettes (Mora, NM) in a 2A District 5 match, on Saturday, January 28. Escalante will attempt to move on its 11-7 season record. The Rangers/Rangerettes enter the match with a 6-11 record after their 54-24 league win over McCurdy (Espanola, NM).

With the defeat, Penasco moves to 9-9 on the year. The Panthers host Mesa Vista (Ojo Caliente, NM) to meet the Trojans in a 2A District 5 match on Saturday, January 28. The Trojans enter the match with a record of 18-2. Mesa Vista won 70-35 in their recent league match against Questa (Questa, NM)
