In Thursday's non-league match, the host Hickory Hornets basketball team scored a tight 46-42 triumph over the Sharon Tigers.
In their next game, the Hornets meet the Slippery Rock Rockets (Slippery Rock, PA) in a non-league match, on Monday, January 30. Hickory will attempt to better on its 8-6 season record. The Rockets enter the match with a 1-14 record after their 47-29 league loss to Grove City (Grove City, PA).
