North Carolina High School Basketball - Lee County tops Southern Lee

January 26, 2023: Sanford, NC 27330

Lee County Yellow Jackets (Sanford, NC) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Southern Lee Cavaliers (Sanford, NC), 54-41 in a league bout.

With the victory, Lee County upgrades its record to 12-4 on the campaign. The Yellow Jackets travel to Pinecrest (Southern Pines, NC) to play the Patriots in a 3A/4A Conference 24 bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Patriots come into the bout with a record of 8-4.

Next up, the Cavaliers play the Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC) in a 3A/4A Conference 24 bout, on Friday, January 27. Southern Lee will attempt to upgrade on its 4-13 season record. The Patriots come into the bout with a 8-4 record after their 57-40 league win over Richmond (Rockingham, NC).
