Seneca Fighting Irish (Seneca, IL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Roanoke-Benson Rockets (Roanoke, IL), 48-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Seneca upgrades its record to 19-8 on the season. The Fighting Irish travel to St. Bede (Peru, IL) to clash with the Bruins in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Bruins go into the bout with a record of 7-15.

Next up, the Rockets clash with the Heyworth Hornets (Heyworth, IL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 28. Roanoke-Benson will attempt to upgrade on its 13-11 season record. The Hornets go into the bout with a 17-10 record after their 45-30 league win over El Paso-Gridley (El Paso, IL).
