Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Smithfield Sentinels (Esmond, RI) and the visiting Tolman/Shea (Pawtucket, RI), saw Smithfield's basketball squad hold off Tolman/Shea by a tally of 44-40.

With the victory, Smithfield improves its record to 10-5 on the campaign. The Sentinels travel to Prout (Wakefield, RI) to confront the Crusaders in a Division 2 challenge on Monday, January 30. The Crusaders come into the challenge with a record of 3-8. Prout lost 47-24 in their recent league challenge against Mount St. Charles Academy (Woonsocket, RI)

Next up, the confront the Mt. Pleasant Kilties (Providence, RI) in a Division 2 challenge, on Tuesday, February 7. Tolman/Shea will attempt to improve on its 0-2 season record.
