The Vista Grande Spartans soccer team scored 2 points and limited the visiting Apache Junction Prospectors to 1 in the Spartans league victory on Thursday.

Next, the Spartans face the Tempe Buffaloes (Tempe, AZ) in a 4A Black Canyon contest, on Monday, January 30. Vista Grande will attempt to better on its 3-9 season record. The Buffaloes enter the contest with a 7-3 record after their 8-0 league win over Coronado (Scottsdale, AZ).

The Prospectors now have a 5-7 record. They take the field next when they host Cortez for a 4A Black Canyon contest on Monday, January 30. Apache Junction will face a Colts team coming off a 1-0 league loss to Dysart (El Mirage, AZ). The Colts record now stands at 3-6.
