Swansboro Pirates (Swansboro, NC) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Croatan Cougars (Newport, NC), 52-32 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Swansboro upgrades its record to 9-2 on the season. The Pirates host West Carteret (Morehead City, NC) to play the Patriots in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Patriots go into the bout with a record of 11-2. West Carteret won 38-32 in their recent non-league bout against White Oak (Jacksonville, NC)

Next up, the Cougars play the Dixon Bulldogs (Holly Ridge, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 27. Croatan will attempt to upgrade on its 7-9 season record.
