In Thursday's non-league outing, the R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC) basketball squad beat the host Polk County Wolverines (Columbus, NC), by a margin of 44-29.

The Hilltoppers (3-15) will now prepare for their outing against Patton (Morganton, NC). The Panthers go into the non-league outing with a 10-8 record. In their last outing, Patton was beaten by East Rutherford (Forest City, NC), 50-45, in a non-league outing.

The Wolverines now own a 4-11 record. They play next when they host Chase for a non-league outing on Friday, February 3.
