The Okaw Valley Timberwolves (Bethany, IL) basketball nipped the visiting Arcola Purple Riders (Arcola, IL), 50-45 in Friday's non-league test.
The Timberwolves (14-9) will now prepare for their test against Blue Ridge (Farmer City, IL). The Knights go into the Lincoln Prairie test with a 13-8 record. In their last test, Blue Ridge was tipped by Cerro Gordo/Bement (Cerro Gordo, IL), 55-47, in a non-league test.
The Purple Riders now own a 17-6 record. They play next when they host Heritage for a Lincoln Prairie test on Tuesday, January 30. Arcola will encounter a Hawks squad coming off a 53-50 non-league loss to Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] (Kansas, IL). The Hawks record now stands at 3-20.
