North Carolina High School Basketball - Watauga trounces Ashe County

January 26, 2024: Boone, NC 28607

The Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) basketball crushed the visiting Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC), 78-38 in Friday's league test.

The Pioneers (14-4) will now prepare for their test against Hibriten (Lenoir, NC). The Panthers go into the 3A/4A Northwestern test with a 1-14 record.

The Huskies now own a 6-12 record. They play next when they travel to Alexander Central for a 3A/4A Northwestern test on Friday, February 2. Ashe County will encounter a Cougars squad coming off a 59-57 league loss to Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 7-12.
