The Athens Golden Eagles (Athens, AL) basketball knocked off the visiting Columbia Eagles (Huntsville, AL), 61-48 in Friday's league test.
The Golden Eagles (12-7) will now prepare for their test against Decatur (Decatur, AL). The Red Raiders go into the non-league test with a 14-11 record. In their last test, Decatur went down by Cullman (Cullman, AL), 71-43, in a league test.
The Eagles now own a 2-22 record. They play next when they host Oakwood Academy for a non-league test on Monday, January 29. Columbia will encounter a Mustangs squad coming off a 95-52 non-league loss to St. Mary's (St. Louis, MO). The Mustangs record now stands at 10-13.
