Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Midview Middies (Grafton, OH) and the host Avon Lake Shoremen (Avon Lake, OH), saw Midview's basketball squad hold off Avon Lake by a tally of 52-47.

With the victory, Midview improves its record to 9-6 on the campaign. The Middies host Berea-Midpark (Berea, OH) to play the Titans in a Southwestern challenge on Friday, February 2. The Titans come into the challenge with a record of 11-3.

Next up, the Shoremen play the Bay Rockets (Bay Village, OH) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 27. Avon Lake will attempt to improve on its 7-7 season record. The Rockets come into the challenge with a 5-8 record after their 80-44 non-league loss to Lutheran West (Rocky River, OH).
