The Pontiac Phoenix basketball team scored 54 points and restricted the visiting Avondale Yellowjackets to 53 in the Phoenix league victory on Friday.

The Phoenix now sport a 7-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Stoney Creek for a non-league contest on Monday, January 29. Pontiac will battle a Cougars team coming off a 61-33 league loss to Oxford (Oxford, MI). The Cougars record now stands at 4-9.

The Yellowjackets (9-6) will now prepare for their contest against Royal Oak (Royal Oak, MI). The Ravens come into the Oakland - Blue contest with a 9-6 record. In their last contest, Royal Oak edged University (Ferndale, MI), 47-45, in a league contest.
