In Friday's league outing, the Estacado Matadors (Lubbock, TX) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Big Spring Steers (Big Spring, TX), by a margin of 94-39.

The Matadors (20-7) will now prepare for their outing against Lake View (San Angelo, TX). The Chiefs go into the 4A Region I District 5 outing with a 10-20 record. In their last outing, Lake View was trounced by Sweetwater (Sweetwater, TX), 73-66, in a league outing.

The Steers now own a 11-17 record. They play next when they host Snyder for a 4A Region I District 5 outing on Tuesday, January 30. Big Spring will clash with a Tigers squad coming off a 53-47 league loss to Levelland (Levelland, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 8-19.
