Brazos Cougars (Wallis, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Danbury Panthers (Danbury, TX), 63-51 in a league bout.

With the win, Brazos upgrades its record to 13-13 on the season. The Cougars host East Bernard (East Bernard, TX) to clash with the Brahmas in a 3A Region III District 24 bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Brahmas go into the bout with a record of 14-7. East Bernard won 50-32 in their recent league bout against Boling (Boling, TX)

Next up, the Panthers clash with the Hempstead Bobcats (Hempstead, TX) in a 3A Region III District 24 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Danbury will attempt to upgrade on its 4-22 season record. The Bobcats go into the bout with a 14-14 record after their 46-42 league loss to Van Vleck (Van Vleck, TX).
