Central Warriors (Elkader, IA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Clayton-Ridge Eagles (Guttenburg, IA), 44-40 in a league bout.

With the victory, Central upgrades its record to 4-12 on the campaign. The Warriors host Turkey Valley (Jackson Junction, IA) to play the Trojans in a Upper Iowa bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Trojans come into the bout with a record of 9-7. Turkey Valley won 62-52 in their recent non-league bout against Clarksville (Clarksville, IA)

Next up, the Eagles play the MFL MarMac Bulldogs (Monona, IA) in a Upper Iowa bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Clayton-Ridge will attempt to upgrade on its 4-14 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 15-3 record after their 89-37 league win over West Central (Maynard, IA).
