Charles City Comets (Charles City, IA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Crestwood Cadets (Cresco, IA), 87-83 in a league bout.

With the win, Charles City upgrades its record to 7-8 on the season. The Comets travel to Kee (Lansing, IA) to play the Kee Hawks in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 27. The Kee Hawks go into the bout with a record of 17-1. Kee won 62-35 in their recent league bout against Postville (Postville, IA)

Next up, the Cadets play the St. Ansgar Saints (St. Ansgar, IA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 29. Crestwood will attempt to upgrade on its 1-14 season record. The Saints go into the bout with a 10-6 record after their 62-54 non-league loss to West Fork (Sheffield, IA).
