Del Lago Academy Firebirds (Escondido, CA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Coastal Academy Stingrays (Oceanside, CA), 59-42 in a league bout.

With the win, Del Lago Academy upgrades its record to 14-9 on the season. The Firebirds host St. Joseph Academy (San Marcos, CA) to play the Crusaders in a non-league bout on Monday, January 29. The Crusaders go into the bout with a record of 15-8. St. Joseph Academy won 80-29 in their recent league bout against Orange Glen (Escondido, CA)

Next up, the Stingrays play the Escondido Adventist Academy Hawks (Escondido, CA) in a Ocean bout, on Wednesday, January 31. Coastal Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 12-4 season record. The Hawks go into the bout with a 6-10 record after their 65-36 non-league win over Pine Hills Adventist (Auburn, CA).
