The Midway Panthers (Waco, TX) basketball knocked off the visiting Copperas Cove Bulldawgs (Copperas Cove, TX), 54-39 in Friday's league test.

The Panthers (12-17) will now prepare for their test against Bryan (Bryan, TX). The Vikings go into the 6A Region II District 12 test with a 15-15 record. In their last test, Bryan went down by Weiss (Pflugerville, TX), 66-40, in a league test.

The Bulldawgs now own a 6-21 record. They play next when they host Hutto for a 6A Region II District 12 test on Tuesday, January 30. Copperas Cove will encounter a Hippos squad coming off a 50-38 league win over Temple (Temple, TX). The Hippos record now stands at 13-14.
