Dyer County Choctaws (Newbern, TN) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Peabody Golden Tide (Trenton, TN), 69-55 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Dyer County upgrades its record to 18-1 on the campaign. The Choctaws host Dyersburg (Dyersburg, TN) to play the Trojans in a 3A District 13 bout on Saturday, January 27. The Trojans come into the bout with a record of 13-6.

Next up, the Golden Tide play the Milan Bulldogs (Milan, TN) in a 2A District 14 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Peabody will attempt to upgrade on its 6-7 season record.
