El Segundo Eagles (El Segundo, CA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting South Spartans (Torrance, CA), 55-47 in a league bout.

With the victory, El Segundo upgrades its record to 17-8 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to West (Torrance, CA) to play the Warriors in a Pioneer bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Warriors come into the bout with a record of 17-9. West won 67-64 in their recent league bout against Torrance (Torrance, CA)

Next up, the Spartans play the Lawndale Cardinals (Lawndale, CA) in a Pioneer bout, on Tuesday, January 30. South will attempt to upgrade on its 14-12 season record. The Cardinals come into the bout with a 6-19 record after their 82-58 league loss to Wiseburn- Da Vinci (El Segundo, CA).
