Virginia High School Basketball - Staunton River ripped by Franklin County

The Franklin County Eagles basketball team scored 73 points and held the visiting Staunton River Golden Eagles to 41 in the Eagles league triumph on Friday.

The Eagles now sport a 6-11 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lord Botetourt for a Blue Ridge contest on Saturday, January 27. Franklin County will meet a Cavaliers team coming off a 47-44 league win over William Byrd (Vinton, VA). The Cavaliers record now stands at 9-8.

The Golden Eagles (7-10) will now prepare for their contest against Northside (Roanoke, VA). The Vikings enter the Blue Ridge contest with a 15-3 record. In their last contest, Northside was routed by Fleming (Roanoke, VA), 82-74, in a league contest.
