Georgia High School Basketball - Stephens County can't hold off Franklin County

The Franklin County Lions basketball team scored 59 points and restricted the visiting Stephens County Indians to 55 in the Lions league victory on Friday.

The Lions now sport a 11-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Monroe Area for a AAA Region 8 contest on Tuesday, January 30. Franklin County will battle a Purple Hurricanes team coming off a 69-60 league win over Hart County (Hartwell, GA). The Purple Hurricanes record now stands at 16-5.

The Indians (7-12) will now prepare for their contest against Oconee County (Watkinsville, GA). The Warriors come into the AAA Region 8 contest with a 3-18 record. In their last contest, Oconee County was nudged by Hebron Christian (Dacula, GA), 60-46, in a league contest.
