LaPoynor Flyers (LaRue, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Frankston Indians (Frankston, TX), 62-54 in a league bout.

With the win, LaPoynor upgrades its record to 18-9 on the season. The Flyers travel to Cayuga (Cayuga, TX) to clash with the Wildcats in a 2A Region III District 19 bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 11-16. Cayuga won 44-34 in their recent league bout against Cross Roads (Malakoff, TX)

Next up, the Indians clash with the Martins Mill Mustangs (Ben Wheeler, TX) in a 2A Region III District 19 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Frankston will attempt to upgrade on its 22-6 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 23-4 record after their 83-38 league win over Kerens (Kerens, TX).
