Iowa High School Basketball - Hempstead topped by Western Dubuque

The Western Dubuque Bobcats basketball team scored 74 points and restricted the visiting Hempstead Mustangs to 59 in the Bobcats league victory on Friday.
The Bobcats now sport a 4-11 record. They put it on the line next when they host Iowa City West for a Mississippi Valley contest on Tuesday, January 30. Western Dubuque will battle a Trojans team coming off a 45-43 non-league win over Cedar Falls (Cedar Falls, IA). The Trojans record now stands at 13-1.
The Mustangs (6-7) will now prepare for their contest against Decorah-North Winneshiek (Decorah, IA). The Vikings come into the non-league contest with a 13-1 record. In their last contest, Decorah-North Winneshiek prevailed over New Hampton (New Hampton, IA), 90-44, in a league contest.
