Texas High School Basketball - Highland Park knocked off by Vega

The Vega Longhorns basketball team scored 40 points and held the visiting Highland Park Hornets to 32 in the Longhorns league triumph on Friday.

The Longhorns now sport a 12-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Panhandle for a 2A Region I District 3 contest on Tuesday, January 30. Vega will battle a Panthers team coming off a 73-40 league win over Boys Ranch (Boys Ranch, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 11-10.

The Hornets (8-18) will now prepare for their contest against Farwell (Farwell, TX). The Steers enter the 2A Region I District 3 contest with a 18-9 record. In their last contest, Farwell ran past Bovina (Bovina, TX), 61-28, in a league contest.
