Iowa City Little Hawks (Iowa City, IA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Xavier Saints (Cedar Rapids, IA), 56-47 in a league bout.

With the win, Iowa City upgrades its record to 6-16 on the season. The Little Hawks travel to Johnston (Johnston, IA) to play the Dragons in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 27. The Dragons go into the bout with a record of 8-8. Johnston lost 58-52 in their recent non-league bout against Valley (Elgin, IA)

Next up, the Saints play the Dubuque Senior Rams (Dubuque, IA) in a Mississippi Valley bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Xavier will attempt to upgrade on its 8-8 season record. The Rams go into the bout with a 13-1 record after their 48-37 league win over Liberty (North Liberty, IA).
