The Thomas Walker Pioneers basketball team scored 61 points and restricted the visiting J.I. Burton Black Raiders to 47 in the Pioneers league victory on Friday.

The Pioneers now sport a 8-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Rye Cove for a Cumberland contest on Saturday, January 27. Thomas Walker will battle a Eagles team coming off a 62-59 league loss to Eastside (Coeburn, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 2-10.

The Black Raiders (3-11) will now prepare for their contest against Rye Cove (Clinchport, VA). The Eagles come into the Cumberland contest with a 2-11 record. In their last contest, Rye Cove dropped by Thomas Walker (Ewing, VA), 71-68, in a league contest.
