The Venus Bulldogs basketball team (Venus, TX), was nudged 47-41 in Friday's league battle with the host Life Waxahachie Mustangs (Waxahachie, TX)

The Mustangs now possess a 14-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hillsboro for a 4A Region II District 10 battle on Tuesday, January 30. Life Waxahachie will confront a Eagles team coming off a 43-38 league loss to Alvarado (Alvarado, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 17-12.

The Bulldogs (22-9) will now prepare for their battle against Ferris (Ferris, TX). The Yellowjackets come into the 4A Region II District 10 battle with a 10-17 record. In their last battle, Ferris was nudged by Life Waxahachie (Waxahachie, TX), 55-53, in a league battle.
