Los Alamitos Griffins (Los Alamitos, CA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Newport Harbor Sailors (Newport Beach, CA), 77-64 in a league bout.

With the win, Los Alamitos upgrades its record to 21-4 on the season. The Griffins travel to Mater Dei (Santa Ana, CA) to clash with the Monarchs in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 27. The Monarchs go into the bout with a record of 23-2. Mater Dei won 82-45 in their recent league bout against Servite (Anaheim, CA)

Next up, the Sailors clash with the Edison Chargers (Huntington Beach, CA) in a Surf bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Newport Harbor will attempt to upgrade on its 21-5 season record. The Chargers go into the bout with a 19-7 record after their 64-62 league loss to Fountain Valley (Fountain Valley, CA).
