The Martin County Cardinals basketball team scored 80 points and restricted the host Paintsville Tigers to 68 in the Cardinals league victory on Friday.
The Cardinals now sport a 12-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Magoffin County for a District 57 contest on Tuesday, January 30. Martin County will battle a Hornets team coming off a 63-50 non-league win over Betsy Layne (Betsy Layne, KY). The Hornets record now stands at 10-6.
Next up, the Tigers clash with the Prestonsburg Blackcats (Prestonsburg, KY) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Paintsville will attempt to upgrade on its 10-9 season record. The Blackcats go into the bout with a 13-7 record after their 64-47 league loss to Lawrence County (Louisa, KY).
